The Sunday after Thanksgiving, the Wackerace Family held the Running of the Kids, a foot race and food drive to benefit the Alameda County Food Bank. We brought the coffee, Jonas gave out handmade race bibs (anyone seen racer # 10001001010?), the start & finish were drawn and the kids took it all quite seriously. In fact, the adults were so busy snapping pictures that we apparently didn't start the race fast enough. One kid yelled "GO!" and the entire field was off in a sprint. When all was said and done, we collected more than 250 lbs. of food and had a great time doing it. I smell a family tradition in the making...
Hi! I love this! I work at the Food Bank and we'd love to share this story for other donors to inspire them to do fun and interesting new ways to help collect food. We saw these photos and nearly broke our faces saying AWWWW.
Could you contact me at meveritt -at- accfb org? A quick phone chat or email interview would be perfect!
Thank you!
